Privacy Policy for Tabsly

Last updated: November 4, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Tabsly ("we", "us", "the App") collects, uses, and processes information when you ("Merchant", "you") install and use the Tabsly app in connection with your Shopify store ("Store").

1. Information We Collect and Process

When you install Tabsly, the App can access the following information from your Shopify account:

  • Store Information: Your shop domain, the access token Shopify issues to the App to call the Shopify API on your behalf, your Tabsly plan, and your App settings, such as the default display mode and setup guide progress.
  • Configuration Data: The rules that decide which products show each content block, and the per-product overrides you set.
  • Product Information: To apply your rules, the App keeps an index of your products with each product's ID, title, handle, status, tags, vendor, product type, collections, and the blocks assigned to it, plus the status of the latest product sync.
  • Content Blocks and Documents (stored in Shopify): The text, FAQs, spec tables, and document lists you write in the App are saved in your Store as app-owned Shopify metaobjects, and each product's block list as a product metafield. Documents you upload are stored in your Store's Shopify Files. They are not stored in our database.

We do not collect or store customer data. Content blocks are shown on your product pages by your theme, and the storefront makes no requests to our servers, so we receive no information about your shoppers or their visits.

2. Shopify Permissions

The App requests only the access it needs:

  • Products (read and write): to read your products so your rules can be matched, and to save each product's list of content blocks as a product metafield.
  • Files (write): to upload the documents you add to a documents block to your Store's Shopify Files.

3. Why We Process the Information

We process this information exclusively to provide the Tabsly app. It is necessary to:

  • Authenticate the App and keep your session secure.
  • Match your rules and overrides to your products, and keep each product's block list up to date when products or collections change.
  • Save your content blocks and documents in your Store.
  • Apply the limits of your plan and check your subscription status with Shopify.

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties unless required by law. The App does not use analytics or tracking services, in the admin or on your storefront.

4. Data Retention and App Uninstallation

We retain Store Information, Configuration Data, and Product Information only for as long as your Store has the Tabsly app installed.

When you uninstall Tabsly from your Store:

  • Immediate Action: When we receive the "app/uninstalled" webhook, we stop any queued product syncs and delete your authentication session, access token, settings, plan, rules, overrides, product index, and sync status from our database.
  • Confirmed Erasure (Within 48 Hours): When we receive Shopify's "shop/redact" webhook, sent 48 hours after uninstallation, we run the same deletion again to make sure no data for your Store remains.
  • Content in Shopify: Content blocks and each product's block list are app-owned, and Shopify removes them when the App is uninstalled. Documents you uploaded stay in your Store's Shopify Files until you delete them. Copy any block content you want to keep before uninstalling.

We respond to Shopify's customer data request and customer redaction webhooks. Because the App holds no customer data, there is nothing to return or delete. Our server logs may briefly record the customer identifiers that Shopify includes in these requests.
